It is important to carry out a detailed analysis of each invention prior to registration in order to determine whether it qualifies as a Patent or a Utility Model. To this end, our technical department examines the invention to assess its nature and determine the most appropriate form of protection.
A Utility Model has a legal term of 10 years, unlike patents which have a duration of 20 years. Another key difference is that the novelty requirement for utility models is assessed at the national level, and it does not require a State of the Art Report, which reduces both costs and the overall duration of the grant procedure.
