Patent Validation

By March 6, 2026April 14th, 2026No Comments

Once a European Patent is granted, it is mandatory to validate the patent in the countries of interest, although it is neither necessary nor required to validate it in all countries that are part of the European Patent Convention.

At Abril Abogados, we advise our clients in assessing which countries are of strategic interest for validation. Additionally, for patent holders outside the European Union, we act as legal representatives to enable them to carry out the validation process, as it is a mandatory requirement for such holders to appoint a Spanish agent.

In addition to the validation itself, we provide translation services, as it is necessary to submit the patent translated into the official language of each country.
