Geographical Scope

National Trademark: This trademark is filed before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and grants exclusive rights to its holder only within Spain.
European Union Trademark: The EU trademark is filed before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and grants exclusive rights across all EU Member States.
International Trademark: The International trademark is filed before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and consists of extending an existing trademark to specific countries that are part of the “Madrid Agreement and/or Protocol” (click here to view the countries). The system requires that the extended trademark be identical to the base application in terms of denomination, logo, and ownership.
