From February 26 to 29, a new edition of the MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS (MWC) will be held in Barcelona (Spain).
As it is known, the main technology companies in the world of mobile communication show their latest innovations at this event, but at this year’s Congress we may also expect to see news regarding AI, Metaverses and/or virtual reality.
Once again, the Judges of the Commercial Courts of Barcelona and Alicante (with jurisdiction in industrial property, among others) want to rise to the occasion by reactivating the FAST ACTION PROTOCOL for the urgent processing of requests for preliminary proceedings, fact-checking proceedings, protective letters or precautionary measures.
This Protocol will allow processing in a preferential and priority manner any of these actions that may arise in the previous days and during the Congress whose subject is may be the infringing acts (or not) of industrial property rights, such as patents, designs, trademarks, among others, or even copyrights or trade secrets.
For proceedings to verify facts or preliminary proceedings or precautionary measures, the Judges undertake to issue their resolution within a period of 48 hours, while for the processing of protective letter the period is reduced to 24 hours. Absolutely record times that can be achieved thanks to the efforts of the Judges and the rest of staff of their Courts during these days.
As they did since the last edition, the Protocol will cover the immediate execution of the Decisions adopted both, including, in the metaverse or any other type of environments and virtual worlds or online platforms.
If you suspect and/or detect an act of infringement of your rights or believe that you may be subject to one of the aforementioned measures, you can access an urgent interlocutory resolution thanks to this Protocol.
And coinciding with this Protocol, our firm will also highlight a special team of our lawyers to attend, on a priority and completely specialized basis, to any procedure that may have to be processed during the celebration of the MWC.
