Territorial scope

National Trademarks: these registrations are managed by the Spanish PTMO and grant exclusive rights to the holder only in Spain

EUTM: the EU Trademark is managed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and grants to the holder exclusive rights in all the EU Member States.

IR mark: World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and consist of the extension of a previous national mark to scertain choosen countries that are part of the “Madrid Agreement” and/o r “Madrid Protocol” (click here to accede the list of the countries). The system requires that the extension is applied for on the basis of an identical prior national mark, both in the denomination and in the logo as well as with regards to the title holder.
